Commissions & Pricing

The prices listed here are estimates. Actual costs will may depending on the complexity of the commissioned work and any additional services requested. Particularly complex characters or scenes will have an additional cost.Please feel free to email me a description of your project for a free price quote.

Style, Complexity, and Level of Detail

I offer both fully rendered, fully detailed paintings as well as more loose and stylized paintings. Various styles of lineart, cell shading, sketches, and more are also available upon request. Here are examples of the styles you can expect from these options:

Backgrounds

Backgrounds are considered a separate cost, and are priced based on complexity. Backgrounds, landscapes, and environments may be added to any halfbody or fullbody piece.

Fully Rendered

Fully rendered digital paintings with dramatic lighting are my specialty.

If there is anything specific you would like me to get inspiration from (e.g. environment for background or stock images for poses) please include them as well. If you cannot provide references for the character (meaning you only have a text description), an additional +15$ will be added to the price.All prices are base prices. Things that might increase the price are complex character designs, number of characters, not being able to provide a good visual reference, complex backgrounds and amount of detail in the image in general.Payment is accepted in USD. Payment can be made here. Do not submit payment until I have accepted your commission and provided you with a dollar amount and an Order ID #.

However, you MUST notify me of this and provide the information of the new owner. This is how I keep track of authorized usage.You retain the rights to the intellectual property (IP) depicted in the commissioned artwork, unless it is a fanart or otherwise depicts an IP that you do not have the rights to.Basically, me drawing for you doesn’t mean I get rights to your character.Any changes to the terms must be discussed in advance.

Terms may be negotiated if discussed with me prior to paying for your commissioned piece.I. GENERAL TERMS1. I, ELI "ELIKSCER" DURFEE (the artist):a. All drawings may or will include a subtle signature that you may not remove.b. I reserve the right to cancel and refund the order at any time for any reason.c. I reserve the right to post the commissioned artwork online, in my portfolio, on my social media accounts, as well as in publications such as art books. I may publish speedpaint/timelapse videos of the painting process which will include the commissioned image.d. Prices are subject to change based on demand.e. I have the right to reject any order that I do not feel comfortable drawing for any reason.2. You (the customer/commissioner):a. You may upload the commissioned artwork on any website and social channels.b. You have limited commercial rights to the commissioned piece and you may profit from the commissioned piece (reselling, redistributing, uploading to POD-services, making prints, etc.)c. You may alter the commissioned artwork.d. You may sell the artwork including its commercial licensing. However, you MUST notify me of this and provide the information of the new owner. This is how I keep track of authorized usage.e. Currency accepted is USD and can be paid with credit or debit card, through PayPal, bank transfer, cashier's check, or cash in the mail.a. The payment method you choose to use must be confirmed with me prior to processing payment.b. If you would like to pay in a different way, such as exchange of digital goods like video games, game currency, gift cards, etc. please contact me. Alternative payment methods must be agreed upon in advance.2. Commissions can be paid either 100% upfront or split 50% upfront and 50% after approval of a watermarked version of the final work.3. Don't send me any payment before I have agreed to give you a slot and requested that you send me the payment.III. PROCESS AND DELIVERY1. I will notify you when I have started on your commission and you, therefore, lose the rights to a refund (see point 7 further below for more info on refunds)2. While I'm working on your commission I will send you updates and offer revisions to make sure I make it just right for you!3. The amount of revisions offered depends on the complexity of the work.4. Review and revisions will include images that are a work-in-progress and these images will usually include a watermark and be smaller than the finished piece.5. The time it takes to finish your commission varies 1 week - 3 months depending on factors such as health, the complexity of the commissioned piece, other work and event seasons.6. After reviewing your order I will provide you with an estimated turnaround time.7. If you have a hard deadline by which you need your piece completed, please discuss that with me prior to placing your order.8. If anything comes up that will slow the progress of the initially estimated delivery time I will let you know as soon as reasonably possible.9. I will not continue work without approval of an initial sketch.a. At each review and revision stage, if I am not able to receive confirmation that you have reviewed and approved the update, I will suspend work on your project until confirmation is received.b. The amount of time it takes you to confirm approval will affect how quickly your project is completed.10. Once the piece is finished you will receive the full-resolution image along with a web-friendly size. Note that there is no physical product. Depending on where you live, we can arrange to print your artwork. Just ask :)IV. REVISIONS1. You get 3 rounds of changes on the commissioned piece included in the price.2. A fee will be added if you want something changed on the final drawing - unless a misunderstanding from my side has been made.3. If you wish for me to change something in the drawing you have previously approved, I will charge you a fee to change it. The amount of the extra charge depends on the change you want me to make and is usually based on an hourly wage.4. If your reference is unclear to start with, changes will come at an extra charge.V. COPYRIGHT / USAGE POLICY1. I, Eli "Elikscer" Durfee (the artist), claim usage rights to the commissioned artwork. Therefore I am allowed to use the commissioned artwork to:a. Promote myself (online, in physical locations, everywhere)b. Publish books with it (artbooks, portfolio books, etc.)c. Display it everywhere to my liking (website, social media, etc.)d. Post it wherever I want2. The buyer is allowed to:a. Use the commissioned piece for personal or commercial use.b. Upload it on all your social media profiles, forums, etc.)c. Print the artwork and claim the character(s) as their own, but not the artwork itself. Do not make claims of having painted the image. Please credit me as the artist when relevant.d. Use the artwork to promote themselves. You are not forced to give me credit when you post it but it is very appreciated.e. Use the artwork on their Youtube channel and in monetized videos as long as the artwork itself is not the main subject for the earnings.3. The following is considered copyright infringement:1. Claiming the artwork as your own work2. Removing my signature from the artwork3. Transferring/selling the ownership or licensing of the image to another person or group without notifying me and providing me relevant transaction information for my records.VI. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION1. I will do everything I can to make my customers happy!2. If you have a problem with anything in regards to the commissioned piece please tell me right away so we can find a solution together.3. I am willing to change some of my terms for you if you ask before I start on your commission. If you, e.g., do not want me to post your art anywhere, we can discuss this.VII. REFUND / CANCELLATION POLICY1. The buyer is not allowed a refund once I started working on the commission.2. If for any reason I am unable to start your commission you will receive a full refund.3. If you cancel your order before I started it, you can get a full refund.4. If you are getting a refund, do not request a chargeback. I will transfer the money back to you myself.5. If you request a chargeback at any point when you were not allowed to ask for a refund you will lose all rights to the commissioned piece and I will have the full right to profit further from it in any way. I will decline the chargeback and supply the payment processor with our conversations in which we talk about the commission as evidence that I have completed work for you. Furthermore, you will be blacklisted from commissioning me again.VIII. WHAT DO YOU GET?1. Drafts/mockups that you must decide between, choosing which one I should continue with (the number of drafts offered may change depending on the complexity of the commission)2. Sketch and/or final sketches that you must accept before I continue the work3. Insight and involvement in color plan (depending on the complexity of the commissioned piece)4. Full-resolution file (approx. 210 x 297 mm at 300 DPI) of final drawing and a smaller version for internet upload. Final file formats are usually PNG or JPG. Other file formats are available if discussed in advance.---If the buyer violates any of the terms stated above they will lose all the aforementioned rights to the artwork that they commissioned from me, Eli "Elikscer" Durfee (the artist), and I will have the right to profit further from the commissioned artwork in any way I see fit. If you have a problem with any of these statements, they may be changed if discussed with me prior to paying for your commissioned piece.
